C. Explain the biblical significance of sacrifice as a means of atonement and reconciliation with God.

II. The Need for Atonement

A. Romans 3:23 - "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God."

B. Isaiah 59:2 - "But your iniquities have separated you from your God; your sins have hidden his face from you, so that he will not hear."

B. Hebrews 9:26b - "But he has appeared once for all at the culmination of the ages to do away with sin by the sacrifice of himself."

C. Explore the profound meaning of Christ's sacrificial death on the cross as the ultimate atonement for our sins.

IV. The Power of Christ's Blood

A. Ephesians 1:7 - "In him, we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God's grace."

VI. Embracing the Way of Sacrifice

A. Mark 8:34 - "Then he called the crowd to him along with his disciples and said: 'Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me.'"

B. Philippians 2:5-8 - "In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus: Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage; rather, he made himself nothing by taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to death—even death on a cross!"

C. Encourage the congregation to embrace sacrificial living, following Christ's example of humility and selflessness.

Conclusion:

Recap the concept of sacrifice as a central theme in Scripture and its ultimate fulfillment in Christ's atonement.
