Title: "Faithful Stewardship: Managing God's Resources Wisely"

Introduction:

I. Understanding Stewardship in Light of God's Ownership

A. Psalm 24:1 - "The earth is the Lord's, and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it."

B. Genesis 1:26-28 - "Then God said, 'Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals, and over all the creatures that move along the ground.'"

C. Explain that stewardship is recognizing that everything we have belongs to God, and He has entrusted us with the responsibility of managing His resources.

II. The Call to Faithful Stewardship

A. 1 Corinthians 4:2 - "Now it is required that those who have been given a trust must prove faithful."

B. Luke 12:48 - "From everyone who has been given much, much will be demanded; and from the one who has been entrusted with much, much more will be asked."

C. Emphasize the importance of using our time, talents, finances, and other resources in a way that honors God.

III. The Biblical Principles of Stewardship

A. Proverbs 3:9-10 - "Honor the Lord with your wealth, with the firstfruits of all your crops; then your barns will be filled to overflowing, and your vats will brim over with new wine."

B. Malachi 3:10 - "Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this,' says the Lord Almighty, 'and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it.'"

C. Discuss principles of tithing, giving generously, and using resources wisely based on biblical teachings.

IV. Stewardship of Time and Talents

A. Ephesians 2:10 - "For we are God's handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do."

B. 1 Peter 4:10 - "Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God's grace in its various forms."

C. Encourage the congregation to use their time and talents for the advancement of God's kingdom and to bless others.

V. Stewardship of Finances

A. Proverbs 22:7 - "The rich rule over the poor, and the borrower is slave to the lender."

B. 2 Corinthians 9:6-7 - "Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously. Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver."

C. Provide practical advice on budgeting, wise financial planning, and giving cheerfully to support God's work.

VI. The Eternal Perspective of Stewardship

A. Matthew 6:19-21 - "Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and vermin destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also."

B. Colossians 3:2 - "Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things."

C. Encourage the congregation to shift their focus from temporary possessions to eternal investments through faithful stewardship.
