 Title: "The Church: God's Family and Kingdom on Earth"

Introduction:

I. The Purpose of the Church

A. Matthew 16:18 - "And I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock, I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it."

B. Ephesians 1:22-23 - "And God placed all things under his feet and appointed him to be head over everything for the church, which is his body, the fullness of him who fills everything in every way."

C. Introduce the Church as God's chosen instrument to reveal His love, truth, and salvation on earth.

II. The Church as God's Family

A. Galatians 6:10 - "Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers."

B. Ephesians 2:19 - "Consequently, you are no longer foreigners and strangers, but fellow citizens with God's people and also members of his household."

C. Emphasize the importance of fellowship and unity within the Church as a family of believers.

III. The Church as God's Kingdom on Earth

A. Colossians 1:13 - "For he has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son he loves."

B. Matthew 6:10 - "Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven."

C. Explore the concept of the Church as an extension of God's kingdom, called to bring His love and righteousness to the world.

IV. The Church's Mission: Reaching the Lost

A. Matthew 28:19-20 - "Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely, I am with you always, to the very end of the age."

B. Acts 1:8 - "But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth."

C. Discuss the Church's mandate to share the Gospel and make disciples of all nations.

V. The Church's Ministry: Serving Others

A. Galatians 5:13 - "You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the flesh; rather, serve one another humbly in love."

B. 1 Peter 4:10 - "Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God's grace in its various forms."

C. Encourage the congregation to use their gifts and talents to serve both within the Church and in the wider community.

VI. The Church's Hope: Anticipating Christ's Return

A. 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17 - "For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so, we will be with the Lord forever."

B. Titus 2:13 - "while we wait for the blessed hope—the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ."

C. Remind the congregation of the Church's ultimate hope in Christ's return and the promise of eternal life.

Conclusion:

Recap the significance of the Church as God's family and kingdom on earth.

Inspire the congregation to actively participate in the Church's mission of reaching the lost and serving others.

Encourage unity, love, and a sense of belonging within the Church community.
